Make a stock adjustment
Correct stock for damaged, lost, expired or found items, with a reason for every change.
Use a stock adjustment when stock changes for any reason other than buying, selling or transferring. For example: breakages, theft, samples, or a count that doesn't match.
Go to Products, click Stock Adjustments, then New Adjustment.
Choose the location and the Adjustment Date. Choose a Default Reason:
Stocktake, Damaged, Expired, Found, Lost, Theft, Sample, Write-off or Other.
Add a note if it will help someone later.
Search by SKU or name to add each product. Each line shows the Current Qty. Enter the New Qty — what you actually have. The change is worked out for you.
You can choose a different reason or a bin on each line.
For tracked products, fill in the Batch / Lot, Serial # or Expiry Date. You can't complete the adjustment without them.
Button What it does Save Draft Saves it without changing stock, so someone can check it first. Complete Adjustment Applies it. Stock changes straight away. Good to know: you can only edit or cancel a draft. If a completed adjustment was wrong, make another adjustment to correct it.
Find an adjustment
The Stock Adjustments list has a tab for each status. The Draft and Cancelled tabs show once you have an adjustment with that status.
Adjustments and Xero
If Xero is connected, completed adjustments can be sent to Xero. How they arrive depends on whether Xero tracks your inventory. See Post invoices, bills and adjustments to Xero.
To keep one adjustment out of Xero, choose Don't send to Xero on it.
