Run a stocktake
Download your stock, count it, and load the counts back in as a stock adjustment.
A stocktake lets you count from a spreadsheet, then turns your counts into a stock adjustment you can check before applying.
Go to Products → Stock Adjustments and click Stocktake. Click Download Stocktake File.
The file lists Product Name, SKU, Location, Quantity, Batch Number, Serial Number and Expiry Date.
Type the counted figure into the Quantity column.
- Keep one location in the file. Delete rows for other locations and do a separate stocktake for each.
- Delete any rows you're not counting.
- For a new batch, add a row with its batch number and expiry date.
Save the file as CSV.
In the Stocktake window, drop the file onto Drop CSV file here. Click Review Adjustment.
If anything is wrong, such as a product that can't be found, InventaHQ lists each row to fix.
A new stock adjustment opens with the reason Stocktake. It shows the current and counted quantity for each line.
Check the differences. Click Complete Adjustment to apply them, or Save Draft to finish later.
Good to know: products you leave out of the file don't change. Use a stocktake to load your opening stock too.
