Sync contacts and products with Xero
Match your contacts and products with Xero, send new ones across, and import ones that are only in Xero.
Before you start
You need the Sync and import contacts and products permission. Administrators have it.
Go to Xero in the menu. The Contacts and Products sections show how many records are In InventaHQ, In Xero, Synced, Not synced and Failed.
Under Only in InventaHQ, check the list. Click Sync now for that section.
Under Only in Xero, tick the contacts or products you want. Click Import selected.
Select all picks the first 100. Import those, then repeat for the rest.
Failed lists anything Xero rejected, with the reason. Fix it, such as a duplicate name in Xero, and sync again.
How matching works
- Contacts are matched by name. Products are matched by SKU and Xero item code.
- Matching records are linked, not copied twice.
- Nothing in Xero is ever changed or deleted.
Good to know: products are created in Xero as untracked items with their sell and cost prices. Customers and suppliers are also added to Xero when you send an invoice or bill for them.
