Create a kit
Turn a Non Stock product into a kit and list the items it's made of.
Before you start
- Kits & Bundles must be turned on. See Kits and bundles: how they work.
- Add every item that goes into the kit as a product first.
Go to Products and click Add Product. Enter the Product # and Product Name for the kit, for example GIFT-BOX-01 Gift Box.
Turn on Kit / Bundle. The product type changes to Non Stock for you.
Enter the Unit Price (Sell). This is what the customer pays for one kit.
Open the Bill of Materials tab. Search for each item or service and select it. Enter the Qty needed for one kit.
Each line shows the item's Unit and Cost.
Below the list you'll see:
- Kit cost (calculated from items) — the total cost of one kit,
- Profit at kit price — your selling price less that cost.
Click Add Product (or Save Changes). The kit is ready to add to orders.
Good to know: a Stock product can't become a kit, and nor can a product that has stock on hand. Create a new Non Stock product for the kit instead.
Change or remove items
Open the kit, go to Bill of Materials, change a quantity or click ✕ to remove a line, then save. Orders you've already created don't change.
Set up many kits at once
Use a CSV file instead. See Import kits from a CSV file.
