Kits and bundles: how they work

Learn what a kit is, how its price, cost and stock work, and how to turn Kits & Bundles on.

A kit (or bundle) is one product made up of other products. For example, a Gift Box made of 2 chocolates, 1 card and a wrapping service.

You sell the kit at its own price. InventaHQ takes the stock out of the items inside it.

How a kit works

  • The kit is a Non Stock product. It never holds stock of its own.
  • The items inside it can be stock items, non-stock items or services. This list is the kit's Bill of Materials.
  • Price: the customer pays the kit's selling price. The items inside it are not charged separately.
  • Cost: worked out for you. It's the cost of each item × its quantity, added up.
  • Stock: when you ship, receive or transfer a kit, the stock moves for the items inside it.
  • A kit can't contain another kit.
